What is the process of fostering/adopting through All4Dogs Rescue?

Upon receipt of an application form one of our team will be in touch to have a chat with you and answer any further questions you may have.

If, after this conversation, both parties agree to proceed, we will apply for a homecheck via an independent network of volunteers of, it the geography allows, we will carry out the homecheck ourselves.

Someone will be in touch to arrange a mutually convenient date/time for them to come and check your home is 100% secure for one of our pups and they will take photographs of your garden and

highlight any areas that may  need to be altered or improved to ensure the pup’s safety.

They will also have a chat with you about your daily routine, work, children (if applicable) and experience with dogs.

Previous experience is not essential but it is crucial that we have as much information as possible in order to match you with a suitable pup.

We will require proof of ID (passport/driving licence) and will take a screen shot of those items for your records and, if you are renting your home,

written confirmation from your Landlord that you have their permission to bring a dog into the home is required.

Once the homecheck report is returned to us (along with pictures of the garden and the ID) the team will discuss the report and, if need be, will contact you for any further information required.

Once we are happy that our criteria has been met and, if we feel that you are able to offer one of our pups a safe and happy foster family, we will work with you to match a pup that is waiting for a foster home to your home.

Or, if you have already decided on a pup that you would like to foster, we will ensure that we think the ‘fit’ is right.  It is at this stage that we will make arrangements for the pup to be prepared for travel.

Adopting from Bosnia:

Bosnia is not in the EU and one of their conditions is that all of our dogs go into quarantine/isolation for 21 days prior to travel.

They are placed here after a full vet check, once vaccinations (including rabies) have been completed and when they are microchipped.

After 21 days they are brought to the UK using a reputable animal transporter.

Dependent on which transport is booked the pups will either be dropped to the home address of the fosterer or at a meeting point.

All dogs come with a full pet passport – detailing the pup’s date of birth (estimated by vet) when all required vaccinations were given (including rabies), microchip number (including when this was implanted).

Adopting from Romania:

As Romania is in the EU no quarantine/isolation is required.

All dogs travel with a reputable animal transporter and will either be dropped to a home address or at a meeting point.

All dogs come with a full pet passport – detailing the pup’s date of birth (estimated by vet) when vaccinations (including rabies) were given, microchip number (including when this was implanted).

All of our dogs cover over to foster homes.  However, as is often the case, happily a number of our fosters decide that their foster dog is a perfect match for their home and family and may wish to adopt.

Therefore, after the initial two week period of fostering, we will have a chat as to how it is going and whether you would like to adopt the pop in your care.

If you decide on adoption it is at this stage (2 weeks post arrival) that the adoption donation is due, in full.

The various documents will be prepared and the microchip will be transferred to you (with dual registration) once the adoption donation has been received.

If you do not wish to adopt your foster pup but continue to foster until a ‘forever home’ is found we will then promote the pup on our website and on Facebook.

Applicants will be taken through the same process that you were and once the application and homecheck have passed, the meet and greet will be arranged between yourself and the potential adopters.

We provide full rescue back up for the life of any dog adopted from All4Dogs and

are here to answer any questions/queries you may have throughout the process and beyond.
